Feedback Regarding the "Improved" Light Theme

Oh, what was that? Did I accidentally get hit by my own flash bang? Ah, no: I just updated discord and saw this completely unwanted and overall bleak visual update. I've been an avid users of Discord Light Theme since I joined discord due to it being the default, and I have had no reason to change it until now. The lack of visual variety could hardly be considered an improvement when the difference between read and unread channels is practically indistinguishable now, and channels are not easily navigable anymore. For me, this update is legitimately headache inducing, and the same can be applied to the Dark Theme, which is why I have been perfectly content with Light Theme for several years. From what I have seen in the servers I personally participate in, the only people that complained about the dark theme sidebar were those that used dark theme, i.e., people that weren't affected by it at all.

Now, given this, a recommendation for the future would be to either have the option to revert back to the original theme, or let users have the ability to customize the chat background and the sidebar separately like this:

Obviously, there have already been several posts regarding this update, but it doesn't hurt to add on to the pile since the amount clearly signifies an issue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I've seen lots of light theme users complain about the side bar being changed due to "it brought balance, you were easily orientated, you could easily see which channels had unread messages"

    And Dark theme users were also kinda affected by the update, the changing of font size and weight and changing the icons just made it not nice to look at.

    This whole update just doesn't seem planned well enough at all, I've seen very few people (granted there are a few) say it's better than what they had.

    Took them long enough, but it seems like it's actually getting an implementation. 🎉

    Great, I wonder if the font options will allow getting the old font contrast as well.  Size is adjustable already.

    Would love to be able to change the sidebar separately form the chat section. Would be fun to use a white sidebar on a dark chat. XD

    Seems they don't give a rats behind about it.  But a designer made a whole article about how awesome of a job they did to redesign it, no doubt promoted by now.   I've seen many of the feedback threads get deleted on this.
