Why I just installed teamspeak...
*I understand this may be in the wrong place but I have no where else to put it. I apologize if this belongs elsewhere
I have been using Discord for years. I run my own server, and it's a place where all my friends can hang out at the end of the day and catch a break from it all. Well not anymore.
Today I got this notification making sure I go out and vote. Are you actually kidding me? Like really. Have I been hacked?! Is this some joke?!
In this world (especially now) politics are shoved in our faces from the moment we step out the door in the morning until the moment we come home, then your phone rings and now you have some one in the line bringing politics right into my home. Discord used to be an escape from all that, I place where I could talk to my friends an family trusting that at least the platform I was on wouldn't throw something like politics at me. And today, that trust has been betrayed.
I loved Discord, I used it for so long and had so much fun. And with a heavy heart, today I need to tell it goodbye. I wish I was never brought to this and I could still trust the developers to not build their opinions (in any way) into their software.

with all due respect, the developers are not bringing their opinions into the app. they dont tell you to vote left or right. they simply ask you to cast your vote, which i think is a tiny annoyance at best, not uninstall worthy. here's a tip for you: just click 'vote.org' and close tab and it will go away. the gray banner wont hurt you. dont make a big deal out of nothing.

Lol.. when suggesting to vote is too much of a polarizing opinion... are you even kidding?
