PTT needs to bind to a SPECIFIC Device and Logical Device button, rather than all "Button 1" across all devices and tied to device physical buttons

Today I introduced my coworker to flight simming and was instantly reminded of why we are unable to use Discord but still have to resort to Teamspeak 3.

For me this is the most bothersome problem with Discord, and annoyingly it is as old as the hills.

We don't need new features, we need working software!

Got a new stick from WinWing today, discovered 2 erroneous Discord PTTs that I do not wish for them to be assigned as such. Reminded of this infuriating issue that has existed for at least 5 years.

Came here after searching all over.  Bumping this thread because it's a huge issue for players of games that use multiple controllers (flight sims, racing sims, etc)

It sounds like you are having some difficulties with mapping your PTT button on Discord to specific physical and logical buttons on your different devices. Here are some suggestions that might help:

    1. To map your PTT button to a specific physical button on your racing wheel, you can try using a third-party keymapping software, such as JoyToKey, that allows you to map specific buttons on a device to keyboard keys. Then, you can set your PTT keybind in Discord to the keyboard key that you mapped to the button on your racing wheel.

    2. To map your PTT button to a specific logical button on your joystick, you can try using a third-party software, such as vJoy, that allows you to create virtual joysticks with custom button mappings. Then, you can map your PTT keybind in Discord to the logical button on your virtual joystick that corresponds to the button on your physical joystick.

    3. Another option you might consider is using a hardware solution, such as a USB switch or a dedicated PTT button box, that allows you to switch between different devices or logical button mappings with the push of a button.

Overall, it seems that there is currently no built-in way in Discord to map your PTT button to a specific device or logical button, but with some third-party software and hardware solutions, you may be able to achieve the customization you are looking for.

alexbuttler you're correct with everything you've stated and I'm likely going to do this, but why can't Discord tell the difference between two separate controllers?  Every other game or program can.  It's a functional flaw of Discord and they really should fix it.

Bumping this again for visibility.  Still a major issue for everyone I race with.

Bump.  This one issue is keeping my league on TeamSpeak as we all have multiple input devices.

When was the last time you tried it? Our flight sim community found out it was fixed silently three months ago or so.

Some time in the last 2-3 months.   I could hear the PTT notification tone as I was adjusting a knob on my button box.  Based on your comment I will check again it tonight.

(edit) checked it tonight and Discord is still unable to distinguish between two devices (Fanatec DD2 steering wheel and a button box controlled using a Leo Bodnar BBI-32 USB board).
