Is this real?
A few days ago, my friend sent me this:
@everyone PLEASE READ DO NOT IGNORE: Do not accept a friend request from luke#0123 and monox. They are hackers. Tell everyone on your friends list because if somebody on your list adds one of them, they'll be on your list too. They will figure out your personal computer's IP and address, so copy & paste this message where ever you can. Heads up: Look out for a discord user by the name of "luke" or often just "monox". He is going around sending friend requests to random discord users, and those who accept his requests will have their accounts and their IP Addresses revealed to him. Spread the word and send this to as many discord servers as you can. If you see this user, DO NOT accept his friend request and immediately block him. Please be warned there is a user going around called "luke" or just "monox" who is mass spamming terribly graphic gore and of such (he is also a hacker). Please spread the word of this to your other servers
I am pretty sure this is fake due to nothing popping up about it, and that it has some weird grammar issues.

No it's not. It's scaretatics to gain something, or chain message to troll or scare people. either way its not possible to gain your ip address via discords since you are both connected to a server and not directly to eachother. and this is feedback not discord forums

The application itself is safe from hackers but as a user, you are not. If you're afraid of being hacked, don't open anything that might lead you outside of discord. Don't open links that you don't know, don't add strange bot, and don't give out any personal information.

You can't get hacked from a simple friend request. You'd have to click a dodgy link that takes you away from Discord to be hacked. Friend request are fine and safe. If you think you've friended someone dedgy, simply block them.
