Being able to see if someone read the message

If I send a message to my friend I dont know if he has seen it already. If I get a message I can click on 'mark as read' but the other person doesn't know that until you reply. I would love to see this function on Discord, just like in WhatsApp and almost all other chat platforms. What do you guys think? Maybe its already there and I'm just being blind but...
