Friend Request DM's

So I've just encountered a situation where I would like to talk to someone about something, however they've recently left my server and are not accepting friend requests. I'm a supporter of this idea of course and I understand this is to ensure spamming and advertising in DM's is kept to a minimal. However! I believe that when friending someone on Discord you should be able to send ONE message exclaiming why you want to friend them. This makes it so that spamming can't be done but a clear message can still be sent. Thanks for reading. :)
