Push Notification Inactive Timeout no longer working
I've been having this issue for about the last two weeks. While my desktop client is opened, I will not receive any mobile push notifications. I have tried a number of the common fixes, first assuming it was an issue with mobile, but I do receive notifications when my desktop client is closed or logged out which led me to believe the issue was with the desktop app rather than mobile. I have been in contact with Discord support through email, but I thought reaching out to the community might help as well.
- As long as desktop Discord is opened, I do not receive mobile notifications. While desktop is closed or signed out, I will get notifications on Mobile.
- All in-app and mobile notifications are enabled.
- I am receiving no notificaitons--including small servers, large servers, direct messages, and even calls.
- I have tested other timeout limits from 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and 1 minute.
- I have tried changing my status to online, away, DND, and invisible and that did not fix it.
- I have tried checking all my streaming options to see if some other app was preventing AFK from triggering and none are.
- I have tried the obvious "reset your router/internet/computer" and those have not worked.
- This started after updating Windows 10, which I have tried uninstalling the update, updating Discord, and using the PTB Discord app.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm completely stumped and would like consistent push notifications back without needing to remember to shutdown Discord on my desktop before leaving every day when until two weeks ago I was able to get notifications just fine on mobile after a few minutes away from my computer.

I have seen someone mention that adding two-factor authentication to their account was the cause of this issue. I'm not in a position to disable that on my account because of the servers that I manage but if someone else is able to test this theory, some insight would be great!

I have done some research and found that phantom inputs are to blame.
If you are on Windows, I wrote a program to help you identify what causes it. Simply follow the instructions listed on the page and enjoy! https://github.com/xaviergmail/DiscordNotificationDebug
For non-windows users, try unplugging all unnecessary peripherals until you find the culprit.

With your help, I was able to discover this was the cause of the problem. I literally couldn't figure out what was making these phantom inputs though, from unplugging all my USB devices to killing programs in the task manager. I spent hours trying to narrow it down. I ended up just doing a Windows 10 reset and that did fix it, probably by uninstalling whatever program was causing the inputs.
Thanks for the assistance!

Xavier, please help me. I tried using phantom inputs, and I do apparently have a phantom input that is turning my volume down for some reason, however, this only seems to be happening very rarely, never more than once in under a minute, so this wouldn't justify discord's lack of push. I actually ran phantom inputs and notification forcer simultaneously, and even with notification forcer I still heard the test call I had my friend give me through my desktop rather than my phone, even though I had not touched anything and the inputs thing said it hadn't detected input in over 2+ minutes

So irritating that we can't remove the idle delay completely. I tried Xavier's tool and found out that Valorant being open is not allowing my pc to go idle so I just can't receive mobile notifications without closing out of it or discord. I've had many problems with mobile notifications in the past too, so it's probably not exclusively a problem with just one game either.

This has been KILLING ME for ages. Xavier's program worked perfectly and helped me find out it was due to an aftermarket controller I had plugged into my PC. Thank you so much!

I used xavier's tool to determine that it was a connected PS5 controller preventing my system from going idle.

Thanks Xavier! With the help of your tool, I discovered that Gigabyte's AORUS Engine app which manages my GPU's clock speeds and fans prevents idle as well.
