Toggling the new quote system.
Discord has made a new feature, to make lives easier/harder.
It would be a great idea if Discord would add an option to toggle the new quoting system on/off in settings, so you could turn it off like you can turn off the emoticon to emoji translation, etc.
Sadly I am noticing that Discord is very slowly and steadily turning into the "messenger style" app, trying to appeal to a wider range of people - which isn't bad I guess, but not making stuff optional, and caring less about their community is making people less interested in Discord, and making Discord less unique. Sure, you can get used to the feature and tell me "what am I talking about?" but remember discord 4 years ago. It makes a difference.
I am not even asking to remove the system, just to add an option to turn on the old system.
Please upvote this so admins can see this, and read it.

Yes! Perhaps in settings there could be an option to have 'classic replies', 'replies' or both on. That way everyone could be happy with the new system discord's added. New users wouldn't have be confused by quotes, and old users wouldn't need to be limited to replies

Quotes and replies don't fill the exact same niche, so I think it would be best if quotes were added back as a separate option alongside replies. There are use cases for quotes that replies can't satisfy, such as bringing attention to something someone's said, or just simply quoting someone.
