I have the same issue since the latest update. For me it only happens when Discord is launched on system startup (it happens immediately after the launch). It doesn't happen when I launch it manually.

I'll echo Xmax and K, I have an identical error message show on Windows startup. As K said, it does not happen when starting Discord manually, but when launching at login.

Yup, since latest update, happening to me too. Any word on why this happens?

Same here. It's an irritant, but at least it loads without an error when launching manually. I think it started after the last Windows update.

    Hi all ,
I see y'all are having a rather identical problem.
Here are some pretty basic steps
1-Do a clean uninstall of Discord
    2-Permanently delete the setup.exe file
3-Download the setup file again from Discords site.
4-Go to the destination where the setup file has been downloaded
5-Right-click and run the file as administrator

    ...
    Hope this works

Now what happens is that discord gets the permission to acces/right file of updates etc.
