Discord opening then closing/crashing on windows 10 desktop app

whenever i open discord it shows the starting up screen then it will open for a slipt second then before I can see anything it closes like it crashed. i have tried reinstalling it, completely deleting the discord folder in roaming then reinstalling and I have tried restarting my computer. i really want to continue using the app on windows 10 however I'm having trouble doing that.
