Discord not starting with Windows
This is not a request to make Discord stop starting with Windows. In fact, it's the opposite.
About 2 days ago I noticed Discord stopped starting on Windows startup, which is an option I want to be enabled.
I don't know if this is a problem with my system, but I didn't find any post about this.
I noticed the app isn't listed on "Startup" tab in the Task Manager.
Obviously I have the option enabled:

Where's what I tried to solve the problem besides restarting:
- Uninstalled Discord
- Deleted discord folders in %appdata% and %localappdata%
- Reinstalled Discord
I could probably put a shortcut to Discord on the Startup folder to make it start with Windows but I want to solve this in a clean way instead of using a workaround.
Would be thankful if someone could suggest a solution. Thanks.
EDIT: Since I've seen other people with this problem, I decided to wait for a fix. I'm now using Discord Canary, which starts with Windows at least for me, but I suppose putting a shortcut for Discord in the Startup folder would also work.

After Startup, choose Settings> Applications> Startup. Make sure some applications have been taken open at startup.
If you don't see the Startup option in Settings. (Select more details to see at startup.) Select Enable to run at startup or Disable to not run. Watch to see how.

Thanks for replying Karakurt5877!
I went to Settings > Applications > Startup and all listed apps were the same as in the Task Manager. Discord was not listed there either, so I don't think that fixes the problem.
Thank you anyways.0 -
Having this exact same problem after trying the exact same things as OP.

Same thing here from several weeks ago. Went nuts trying to solve it until I see now I'm not the only one. I missed some important conversations because seeing the discord window already opened acted like a reminder to review the conversations.
Did somebody find any fix to this?

Zapa a few days ago I also noticed I'm not the only one with this problem.
For now I'm using Discord Canary (alpha version), which seems to not have this problem. If you don't want to use it, I suppose putting a shortcut for Discord in the startup folder would also work if you are on Windows.

I finally added a manual registry key and that solved the issue. Thanks for the tip anyway!

Just wanted to reply to what the simple fix was for me. In the startup apps, Discord isn't listed. However, a generic "Update" is listed and was turned off. I likely turned it off not recognizing what it was and didn't make the connection for a bit. The update.exe is in my discord folder and is likely the updater that runs to keep discord up to date.
The simple fix for me, in Startup Apps turn on "Update (GitHub)".1 -
Felnorith That's it! I also had the "Update (GitHub)" off in startup and now starts no problem. Thanks!
