Allow server admins to hide status messages for individual users or roles.
User status messages can be very problematic for servers where certain values may be in place.
For example, I run a student organization server for college aged computer science students. Our server celebrates diversity and expects it's members to be sensitive (or generally avoid) when speaking about their personal politics.
The issue is with personal status messages, is that users can circumvent moderators and/or server rules (ex. no expletives) and the only option a moderator is left with is either asking the user to remove their status, kicking, or banning the user.
What we need is a way to hide a users status for the entire server, that way moderators do not need to take extreme action on users who may be expressing themselves differently on other servers.
In our case we have a user with the status "Proud to be white". While this status is not inherently racist, it still has bothered some of our membership. Plus, it is clear that this form of message lends itself to a certain unflattering form of identity politics that we do not want in our server.
Hopefully this feature will make it into a future update of Discord.
