Typing @user is not an option if their name is special like @𝖀𝖘𝖊𝖗. The only way to mention them is to scroll up in chat to tap their name or hope they are in the @ list when you go to try and type their name.

My suggestion is there should be a mention button on their profile like on pc.

  If you tap their name in the chat it will autofill their @.
