crashing on typing since today's update
Discord systematically crashes if the message you are typing gets long enough to require a second line in the typing area. It also crashes when you resize the app window if that changes the number of lines required to display the text you are typing.
In short, if the number of lines in the typing box changes, Discord crashes instantly.

Hi guys! So the fix is in User Settings > Text & Images > Preview emojis, mentions. Disabling that should stop the crashes! If not you may have to wait till next update.

someone suggested in my post to use the discord browser and it works so yeah use that until it gets fixed

Please fix this. My setup requires my to have an extremely tiny chat window. The crash is really sudden and unexpected as well which really interrupts my current task.

The proposed fix does nothing.
for me, discord crashes:
- If my message is too long.
- If it has a second line
- if it has a image in it
- if it has an emoji in it
- If i try to add a gif
- if i do a /tenor command
- if i'm in voicechannel, and i scroll down to see who's in it
- If i'm playing among us and and try to join via the participate button (this one is especially diabolical. it will crash to the last visited channel, which is the one with the button, so it's an endless loop of crashing)I'm using the desktop version. Nbobdy else on my server seems to be affected.
These are the ones I could replicate, i have about 5-6 more unidentified crashes I can't replicate yet.

I'm having the same problem too... I hope it will be fixed soon, the crash is annoying, as much as not being able to post long messages. Posting this in hope that the issue gets more attention

at least i know it's not only me, it's been happening to me since yesterday and I really don't wanna reinstall since it'll reset everyone's volume and all my gifs

I am also experiencing the same issue on my PC. It doesn't happen while using my phone app. Been using the phone to post the big ones.

It also happens when editing previously made messages that were over this apparent character limit.
