Feature request: offline mode
Hi, I'm using discord as the messenger for work-related communications and as the storage for requirements. I like its speed (in comparison with alternatives) and flexibility. But what I hate - is its current behavior in case of losing internet connection - it just gets unusable at all so I can't search through the history or even read recent messages. What I propose is two changes which should dramatically improve its offline usage:
1. Stop reloading on breaking internet connection. Even with current implementation it should allow to at least read some recent messages in currently opened channel.
2. Introduce caching of last N messages per channel (configurable option, disabled by default for backward compatibility) and online / offline mode concept (if in online mode - show messages from server but do not forget to put it into cache, if in offline - work purely with cache & maybe disable writing / editing to keep it simple). With caching in place discord could switch between online / offline mode automatically (for example on losing internet) or manually (to cover the cases when internet exists but too slow/unstable).
I think a lot of digital nomads will appreciate such a change. Thanks.
