Idea - Anonymous Messages
Here's a neat idea for discord: Anonymous messages. This would be a role/server owner/moderator permission, which allows you to send messages in a channel without displaying your name or profile picture. Members with moderator permissions, however, would be able to view who sent these messages for obvious purposes, reveal the message sender, or delete it.
I think this would be useful mainly in two situations, one, in information/announcement/rule channels, where the name of the sender and the profile picture distracts from the message, as well as other info such as the date, etcetera, might not be something the server owner or moderators want to display. With anonymous messages, these channels with announcements or rules would seem much more professional or official. The second reason is that you may, as a moderator, want to warn someone or send messages for various other moderation purposes, and not necessarily want to display your name and user information. Sometimes a member can get angry when they are muted, kicked, or banned from a server, and will start spamming or raging at the moderator who did it, so while the moderator can block them, it would be useful to just not show your identity in the first place.
I hope this gets added to discord, it would be an awesome and useful feature, I would use it a lot!
Love what you guys are doing, discord is by far my favourite social media platform.

I agree with both of the reasons you stated in this post! I think this would be a great feature! Another use case I can think of is for anonymous polls. Say for example, a server admin wants the opinions of members of their server, but the members don't want to reveal their position or preference on the topic to the other server members.
If needed the anonymous polls could be a server option, where the admin or moderator could enable/disable this ability for the members.1
