Keep Discord app open when tabbing out of app during two-factor authentication on Pixel 4a

The title says it all. I have previously used Google Authenticator with the mobile app, but in order to do so now I need to speed run logging in as minimizing the window closes the app completely, meaning I cannot open up the Authenticator, grab the code, and then use it on the app when it asks for the key.
