5 reasons why I dislike the new reply feature.
1. In my opinion, it makes chat look more cluttered and doesn't match the Discord aesthetic.
2. Quoting was absolutely fine, the only thing it was missing was quoting attachments. Don't fix something if it isn't broken.
3. There should be an ability for the server-owner to set it to go back to old quoting, or (more complicated) let that be a client-side setting, but the setting should exist.
4. The ability to turn off being pinged should be prioritised to lie with the pingee, not the pinger; preferably with both.
5. In the instance where it lies with both, there should be a setting to determine whether ping is automatically on or off for when you reply to someone.

I agree about the quotes being absolutely fine and I absolutely hate that they removed the quote button. Please bring back the quote button, it's FAR too useful and replies do NOT compensate for it at all.
I disagree about the ping priority. Anyone can ping anyone as they please by simply including @their_name, so it's useless to give the pingee the ping priority. I believe everyone can disable their pings already if they choose to. The choice whether to ping or not to ping someone in a reply is nothing more than a bit of convenience for the pinger. It's fine as it is.

agreed. Please, the quote function served a completely different (and far less cluttered) function!
It also should be default ping off instead of on.
