Reply is great, but can we have quote back please?

The new reply feature is pretty cool. It links to the replied message automatically which can make following conversations a little easier. However there's a few use cases reply doesn't cover that quote did:

  • Cross-channel/server posting
  • Reducing message for context
  • Replying to multiple things in one message

I know it's not hard to do these by hand, but they were nice to have. While you make the reply feature better, can we have the quote one back along side it please?

    Big agree. They don't serve the same function. Quotes let you repeat and highlight things for effect in a way replies dont and ondicate that youre replying to a very specific thing, both of which are valuable. Linking back to an earlier spot in the chat when you respond is valuable too, but in different situations--one function does not replace the other.

    Would've been much better off just adding more function to Quote instead. As in allow for a Quote to link back to the post that's being quoted. Because with Quote you can decide how much of what you want to quote, so it's as full or shortened as much as desired, and still leaves the ability to format it.
