Mising functionality in the new reply system
The new reply system is missing a few things that quotes could do much better, which, if the reply system is kept, should be implemented in some way. Namely, the ability to reply to a specific part (or multiple specific parts) of a message, reply to multiple messages at once, and reply to your own message. With how quotes are currently partially disabled, the best way of doing this currently is copy pasting the section of the message you want to reply to and formatting it with the quote option, since the ability to quote a message by clicking more options on the message itself no longer exists. Obviously, this is far from ideal. I have no doubt that somebody is working on making sure this system is able to do what quotes could, although I am a bit disappointed that discord has once again replaced a feature before the replacement had full functionality.
Also, as a side note, I have seen a few people mention that the replies are hard to read, and I have to agree. From how Discord has previously responded to accessibility issues, hopefully this is changed... and hopefully the result doesn't look quite as... unfinished.

- I kind of agree with "the replies are hard to read" they should add an accessibility option in user settings
- For "reply to your own message" you can, you press the more button
- Also for "the ability to reply to a specific part" you still can and it isn't that hard, do:
> what you want to quote and paste it here

Still does leave the replying to multiple messages part, but glad at least some of it works.
Edit: I know about using > to make a quote, the point I was trying to make is that you now have to copy paste all sections you want to quote, which can get inconvenient if you need to quote multiple parts of a message, for example, an admin addressing a multi-part suggestion.

Yes, and given that's the case, why isn't there a settings to show an old-style quote option? Even if it were just in 'more' that would be preferable to losing it entirely.3
