The All Messages setting for Server and Channel notification settings on the iOS app does not work. Hard stop. I have been told it is “working as intended” by customer service, that it is “to make sure that you won't be bugged for spam messages that shouldn't really concern you.” Very nice sentiment, however it is completely nonsensical, as they have already created two other settings to specifically avoid/solve that very problem: Only @ Messages, and Nothing. They have instead chosen to remove the functionality of a setting they spent time to develop. It’s like having a light switch with on, off, and strobe, except the on position isn’t even connected to the electrical system, let alone doesn’t turn on the lights. It is a major hinderance to user experience and effective functionality. To be honest, the small red badge on an app shouldn’t be considered as spammy- we all know that person with a horrifying number of undress emails or texts- in my opinion, if anything the banner notifications constantly popping up would be more of an annoying spam that needed to be curtailed then a little number. It simply makes zero sense why they would have this feature visibly exist in their product and intentionally disable its use. FYI I have gone through troubleshooting every other option; I am signed out of all other browser or desktop versions, notification settings are enabled both in my phones settings and the Discord app settings, delete and reinstall app, restart phone, etc. Customer service had me re-do all of those things, just to end up telling me “oh yeah btw we made that so it doesn’t actually work, whoopsies” Otherwise, love the app. But this is a huge blunder that has existed for some time for all iOS users that Discord has willingly and intentionally ignored.
