I see that, for a Discord Bot to join more than 100 servers, its administrator must submit a copy of their photo ID (aka all their IRL doxx) to Discord.
Now, allegedly, this data is handled only by Stripe, but I have the following questions:
- How much of this data does Discord retain or is available to them from Stripe?
- For what purposes will this ID data be used?
- Under what circumstances will this ID data be disclosed?
Stripe's likewise says that “We retain your Personal Data as long as we are providing the Services to you…[and afterwards,] to the extent necessary to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, and for the purpose of fraud monitoring, detection and prevention.”
But neither of those answer the above questions clearly at all.
For what purposes will the developer's ID data "normally" be used?
For what purposes may it be used?
Under what circumstances would it be disclosed to e.g. the public?
