Don't force Linux users to update instantly

Tried this. It worked, just look for a txt file with a version number and edit it. This will work untill the package gets updated. :-)

But it is still annoying to do this every time there is a new update. And for new users that don't know this trick, it is an unsolvable mystery. (I have seen many people that are too stupid to use a search engine)

If only the discord devs would get their heads out of their asses...

    fwiw:

    /opt/discord/resources/build_info.json

change the .13 to .14 (or whatever version number is applicable at the time of reading)

I could possibly see a forced update if there is a major security flaw with the client.  However they're not interested in YOUR security at all, otherwise there would be end to end encryption and they'd keep their noses out of your business.  But they don't give two flying craps about your security or privacy.

Again horrible day with discord fully blocking my dev-Team with Update-Forcing Dialoge !! :(

    BUT... I've found a solution,

please see: StackOverflow and up-vote it there.

Maybe discord should just provide their own package repositories so the update is available straight away?
