Please make some kind of warning, that deleting a friend is almost the same as blocking them.

I had been talking with a friend for months and we fell through. I thought we were never going to talk again so I removed them as a friend.

Weeks later I realized that if send a direct message to a former friend, you get a frankly unsettling message saying that the message could not be sent. Now I don't know if my friend had anything more to say, and no way for me to recover their username to send them another request.

So please, when removing a friend specify that the action will effectively block off communication between them. Not having that disclaimer caused a lot of distress for me and maybe for them, and now I miss my friend.
