discord nitro via xbox gamepass

i have the xbox game pass and i would like to get the free nitro.But do i have to be a nitro user already because i don't have nitro,and im redeeming this thinking it could get it without having to be already a nitro subscriber.So if i try and redeem it will it still cost money? or is it completly free until the 3 months is up? please help

    Yes you can get free nitro for 3 months if you buy it but you cannot cancel but you can get your money back
