Hola~ I'm certain, many Discord-users run into the issue of having to sacrifice between granting their servers' moderation team members the "Manage Roles" permission or not giving them this permission, at all, because what server owners and admins actually need is to allow their mods to only assign roles - not delete/rename/rearrange/customise them. However, because Discord offers no distinctive function separating Role Management from Role Assignment, users are left to scrap their intentions, altogether, or "bypass" this limitation by relying on a bot; the latter method is very inconvenient, unattractive and overcomplicates an issue easily solved by the expressed implementation). Server owners and administrators wish to enable Role Assignment for certain or all regular moderators, but may prefer to restrict Role Management to admins and themselves, as it could prove detrimental or problematic if a moderator with the perm of Role Management accidentally or recklessly changes a role's settings or, God-forbid, deletes the entire role. In my guild, for instance, exists 6 different staff positions, and only the upper three have explicit access to Role Management, whereas the lower three may assign and remove roles through third-party bots (which occasionally stumble offline and compromise the process). My server, like many others, hosts events and awards, and special roles may be assigned by mods to users. However, just because mods are granted Role Assignment perms should not = the ability to edit the server (i.e., delete/create/edit/rearrange roles). It may be inappropriate to issue managerial role functions to mods whom server owners only want to allow role provision for. I hope to see this in the near future! 😶🤗♡
