Getting started as a creator

Basic stuff really. First, how long does it take to get invited? I was asked a number of fairly basic questions, but no invitation to support my application by submitting a piece of my art ... without seeing my work, how do they know how to judge me? What is the current value of an ETH? Once sold, is there any way to benefit from on-selling of my piece?
