Rule 13 - Cheating Regulations / Distributions
I am interested in understand Discord's stand on Terms of Service regarding Rule 13. It specifically states and I quote.
- You may not promote, distribute, or provide access to content involving the hacking, cracking, or distribution of pirated software or stolen accounts. This includes sharing or selling cheats or hacks that may negatively affect others in multiplayer games.
So going forward, it says you may not promote or distribute access to content that involves hacking or cracking, doesn't specifically say cheats. But the second sentence also adds, includes sharing or selling cheats/hacks that may negatively effect others in multiplayer games.
Discord has failed to respond to many of my support tickets, twitter prompts regarding more information on the matter. Countless cheating servers have existed, some deleted, some still roaming free. It seems Discord doesn't have a handle on the rule, ignoring popular servers because it brings traffic and profit, political stunts, or they just don't care?
I run servers myself and I have stated in them since the rule doesn't apply to single player games, cheating is allowed. Today I still wait for a concrete answer from discord what is and isn't allowed? Because cheating online servers still exist today.
