Separate sound for ping

I don't want a notification sound every time a message is posted, but I would like to hear when I'm pinged (DMs or @ mentions). Please add a separate sound for this!

    Oh god absolutely, this is something which is sorely missing from Discord and would be so useful.

    This would be so damn useful, especially for those who moderate servers. I want to see messages as notifications but not hear them unless they're calling for me in person. It's actually really frustrating, since I've missed a few mentions that were drowned out by the tons of other messages.

    This would be quite useful, as it can quickly get annoying to hear hundreds of message sounds every hour, but mentions sound the same so I still have to check discord constantly. Having the option to disable message sounds and have a separate sound for DMs and mentions would be quite useful.

    Actually we can assign a separate notification sound of our likes . Go to settings>Apps & notification>discord>notification category (messages)>sound. From here you can use any sound stored on your device .
    Note:This is only applicable for Android 9,10 and 11

    I too would like to be able to silence normal message sounds and have a separate selection to sound only for mentions and DMs.

    Hey, i know this was posted two years ago, but if you haven't figured it out, you can go into settings and turn off the "message" slider to only hear pings

    Spaghetti_undercooked, how do I do that? I don't see a "sound only for pings" option. Do I simply turn off the "Message" option in the "Notifications" part of the settings?
