a bi-annual discord user census

hey!

this is my 2nd post on this forum, so again, i hope i'm doing everything right! i've had this small idea for a while, and i've wanted to share it, so here it is ^^

i think sending out a bi-annual survey to all discord users would help people get a bigger idea of who uses the platform, and also reveal lots of subcultures and subgenres users can be in. it can also be used by discord themselves for marketting and things along that line, though my idea was mainly just so users of the site can get an idea of who uses it (and maybe discover a culture they weren't aware of)?

questions on the survey would be in multiple categories.

most choices would be multiple-choice, because thats the best way to collect data, but most will have an "other" with an answer box too.

"server owning" - forced to do if you have a server with over 1 other non-bot user, though on people who don't apply to that there would be the question "Have you ever considered running a discord server, and how far have you gone with that?". there would be questions about server size, bots, communities, moderation, channel organisation, etc. in this section

"server using" - questions relating to how you personally like servers, whether you've modded any, how many you join, what criteria a server has to have to be joined, the things your servers are often relating to, etc.

"discord suggestions" - a list of top suggestions from this forum that are possible and an upvote or downvote. just to help discord with their priorities!
