Discord authentication for access to collaborative documents

We're an esports organisation looking for a secure way for us to document our strategies. We'd ideally like to control read/edit permissions of an online document by reading users roles.

If there are no tools like this, I am looking at creating it myself and would like to understand if the discord API can provide a list of roles someone has within a server.
