Hide Custom Status / Now Playing on a per-user basis
Maybe there's someone in one of your servers who makes annoying statuses. Maybe a status makes you just a little uncomfortable, but it's not actually inappropriate so you don't want to make an issue out of it. Maybe you just don't wanna know when your ex is listening to "your song" on Spotify.
In these cases, it'd be nice to have a simple checkbox to hide the custom status and/or the now playing for other users, by right clicking their name (similar to, but not as extreme as just blocking or muting them).

I think this should be an option for server owners as well.
If a user's custom status is inappropriate, but not enough to make a big deal out of it, it would be nice to have the ability to just hide their status for the whole server.

One of my friends has a status that's just "Browsing nhentai.net" with the kissy emoji next to it... and he complains that he has no chance at getting a girlfriend... it's painful to watch, honestly.3 -

Finally had enough of these and googled how to turn them off. So there is no way, in that case, this needs to be a feature. Some custom statuses are just so personal and I don't want to see them, and I don't know why people do it.

Agreed. There's a guy in our discord with the word c*** in his status. I've PM'd him about it but gotten no reply. I personally couldn't give a hoot, but we have women in our group and that's tends to be a strongly disliked word for them.

But its not like anyone from Discord actually reads this feedback. Much-requested features have been requested for years and years and just been ignored.

Since you've made the streaming available to more people for school use during the corona closures, we decided to do it for our school, but having some 6th grade idiot use racial slurs in their status and having to constantly watch for it and reprimand is getting real old, real fast.
I'd very much like the ability to hide all status messages for the entire server - I can stop them using lame names, I should be able to stop them using stupid/offensive status messages, too.

This needs to happen. Custom statuses, especially with emojis, are like tiny ads or unattended notifications that distract and annoy.

it's literally so unnecessary. i have a 'friend' who's status is super explicit and i have to see it every time i look at my friends list. i swear they removed it and put it back too!

This seriously needs to happen. I'm an admin in a server that does not allow cursing so when a booster or someone with a high ranked role in our server has curse words or sexually explicit words in their server status, we have to wait for them to change it and if they don't respond, it just doesn't get changed and our members are like ????

Support, even if we can't hide them on a per-user basis there should at least be a setting to hide ALL custom statuses.

I'm on a server where couple of guys has dynamic status (text there is typed and erasing dynamically and endless) and this is SO annoying.

also, could we implement something that gives you and option to choose who can see your statuses?
