Suggestion: The most needed, a cross-user Newsfeed.
First of all, hello fellow Discord users, I had been searching around for a while and thinking about something that might be quite useful for Discord, and it's the addition of a friend-tied or cross-user Newsfeed, you know, the kind that any other social media possess.
Something that's much more "open" when it comes to sharing and user meeting, tied specifically to share our work (Or post our short meme shenanigans) and reach up to friends of friends, in an attempt to hook up a growing community.
Do excuse my poor English, but in short terms, a Newsfeed like the ones we have in Facebook or Twitter, would drastically boost a much secure demographic, without the need of making a whole entire server for just one or two things that would eventually fade away.
I know I could join up huge servers specifically to meet or promote my work as an artist, but the big majority of the time, those who are less known in other communities gets quickly cast aside and making Discord less appealing to meet new people.
Sometimes a server is unnecessary when you wants to post short statuses, or artworks, music, or that crispy meme of a dog, that is how I reach to more people in a much quieter manner than entering stranger's discord servers and post them there.
Let's say I post an artwork in a newsfeed, which it shall be displayed among my friends and friends-of-friends if their settings allow it of course, they will come by and drop me a thumbs up or a naruto hand sign jutsu, you know... show some support, WHILE at the same time reaching up to more people that may or may not wants to become pals, supporters, followers or interested in my job, something that DOESNT need an entire server to do.
As the Newsfeed is for public "friends and friends-to-friends" announcing, where a Server is strictly up for whole invitations to be part of a much solid community, yet Discord lacks the first thing, the introduction and first impression of people looking to be social or in a business type of group, aka Newsfeeds.
Discord itself could drop their hot deals and news in said newsfeed for all of us to see while kicking that mouse wheel down at the speed of light.
With Facebook, Twitter and many other social medias becoming increasingly strict with a No-Fun allowed policy, with my page being forcefully shut down due to an increase of trolls basically reporting it just for fun and Facebook literally taking up on trolls, it's no wonder if many musicians, artists or other freelancers may have a place to stay in a near future.
Think about it! bring a Newsfeed and we can kick out other social medias in a blink.

Discord seemingly doesn't have strategy while moving to a general public chat concept. That's why they make arguable decisions to cut functionality in favour of speed. This way Discord is gonna stay Yet Another Enhanced Slack or smth.
