Making a visual difference for different types of pings
I am in a good few servers, so I end up getting a lot of @everyone pings. Half of the time, they may just usually be junk pings may skip past. I don't often get pings directed only to me, or maybe I just don't know if I do.
My idea is to have a clear difference in between types of pings. Because of complications that may come with this, the ping bubble you get inside of the server picture could be adapted, so when you hover over that part, it will expand to take up part of the bottom half, making a sort-of rectangle, detailing which role you have that was pinged, or if there were multiple roles you have pinged. If there's enough space, you may be able to widen the server bar a little bit to make them widen a small amount on the side or the bottom, so it wouldn't obstruct the actual server button much. When having mobile in mind, I would pick it widening on the bottom.
For example, if it's an @everyone ping, it will be your normal red, maybe displaying "@everyone," with a number of how many times it was pinged. If it was a ping to you, it would be blue, and maybe show the name of who pinged you. If it was a certain role, it would be purple, and you would hover over the bubble and it would display the name of the role or roles that were pinged. (Keep in mind, I don't know how much space there will be to display so much info, so it could just mostly be the color indicators and what roles were pinged and what-not.)
This is kind of an ambitious suggestion, with there being aspect ratios for bars in the app probably moved around, and probably would change the look of the kinda-sorta-iconic red ping bubble. Even if this would be too much, it would be nice if it at least was blue if you got pinged or purple if one of your roles got pinged for difference.
