Discord killed my sound system and disrupted the sound hardware
AnsweredMy 2 month old win10 PC has worked perfect for about 2 weeks after installing Discord, but when booting the system normally one morning my analog sound to the speakers was gone. Trying to error correct the drivers helped nothing, besides now totally removing the hardware asset from the PC. So now I could not fix the broken sound as the device was missing too. Discord though was working as normal.
I installed a USB sound-card mounted in headphones and I had sound again. The next two days thing were stabil, but the analog Realtech onboard device was impossible to contact. When I opened the system today Discord would not start and I tried to remove and reinstall the APP but was not able to get it going again. The installation program reported an undefined error and asked to contact the programmers. The Discord Connection in Chrome was working without any problems though. But here comes the BIG SURPRISE as I was powering up my Euro Trucker Simulator my old sound was back, by itself I may add, and my speakers was now working as before. Checking the sound drivers and hardware showed now a fully normal system with all sound devices working.
But now I was not able to reinstall the Discord APP and that is the status at present. SO it seems like Discord and no sound or sound and no Discord. The choice, at present, is easy as I can't re-install Discord. So until a fix it out I will only use the Chrome version of Discord.
Please look into this matter when possible. I have the large SquirrelSetup error logfile for interesting reading. But it is too long to include here. The right people can request it here.
