make emojis change brightness rather than transparency when can't be used

lengthy title, but i'm just asking for emojis to lower their brightness rather than becoming translucent

there are small bars between every blocked emoji as is, and it looks super weird.

an easy way to combat this would be just to decrease brightness rather than making them translucent, i'd assume
