Role specific slow mode.
To make slow mode better, how about instead of having everyone who doesn’t have access to bypass the slow mode, make it so that server owners can edit the slow mode via the roles as well for specific channels in servers. *Adding slow mode to a specific role* Server Settings > Roles > When editing a role, there would be the same slow mode slider from the channel setting slow mode. *Turning slow mode on and off in a specific channel* Channel Settings > Permissions > Roles > Add role > Text permission > Slow mode ON/OFF So, it would basically remove channel slow mode and replace it with role specific slow mode.

Yes please!!! I don’t want people to be able to manage messages or manage channels to be disabled from slow mode! We need a role add on that can bypass slow mode!

I desperately need this feature for a server I moderate. We have one user who is constantly spamming; for example 50+ unanswered messages. His enthusiasm is great for our community, but I want to disable what he can do.
Ideally, Enable Slow Mode Only for him. Stop him from using the @ function altogether. Stop him from PMing other users unless they have already PM'ed him
It's like I need an "I am one step away from being banned" role

This would be useful so new members won't be able to spam channels. (such as in raids) and would be easier to moderate.

I've made a few concepts to show how this could work in Discord. Tell me what you think of these.

This feature is long overdue. Indeed, there are discord servers (including the discord server with the most amount of users) that get a ton of spam from users. The admins set a slow mode to one channel, but then they just go and spam those channels with a lower slow mode.
Allowing servers to set slow mode delay across an entire server for each role would be a perfect solution. And in addition, to prevent cross channel spamming, give the admins the option of stating that single slowmode countdown lasts for all channels or a single channel. So new users would need to wait instead of just spamming the same message across all channels.

Yes please! This would be a brilliant feature, a sort of "time-out" for problematic users that isn't as extreme as a mute.

This could be used as an extra perk for having a payed rank in a server (ex: Server Booster), if @everyone has slowmode! Defo +1

Definitely agree - modifying slow mode so that it was based on role membership would be really useful addition to stop spamming without invconveniencing everyone else.
5 -
Agreed, we need this

was just about to post this lmao, would stop raids from happening in introduction and support channels.
5 -
Yet another great idea that went absolutely nowhere.
5 -
Also bumping this!
Server-wide and role-specific slow-mode should be a standard feature by now!
We server owners and admins need a quick-fire solution to mass spamming and raids (many of which involve multiple members (10-20+) attacking successive channels in turn, and our only response is to mute or ban individual users, or apply slow-mode to each single channel at a time, which just isn’t efficient enough to prevent such attacks before the damage is done. Please implement these features.
Thank you Discord devs~

I am starting to believe that Discord staff don't even check all these great suggestions. I just had this problem this morning.

I am just 1 of many people who are asking for this option.. why?
In a group of people you will have a person who will just send messages, to who ? Absolutely no one. Over time people get irritated with having a slowdown and leave, if they hadn't already left because of one person who continue to fill the room with endless messages.
Now the person hasn't said anything wrong by any rules, but this person needs to have a limit so others don't leave your server.Let's face it not all of us administrators can be one all the time, and deletion of a message that does not interfere with any rules would also not be what discord is about.
So listen to all the others here including me, an individual slow down is needed, and not whole channels.
Thank you for taking time to read this, but to also make positive changes that many others are having issues with.5 -
Implement this already

+1, extremely useful

Yes, we want the feature

I was just looking for this feature. Hope this gets implemented

+1. We need this

Come on discord! I just replied to another thread on this same topic. You can probably get ALOT OF happy people if you implement this. Please!!!!!!!!!!!

WE NEED THIS SO BAD
DISCORD PLS ADD ITTTTTT
PLEAAAAAAAAASSSEEEEEEEEEE4 -
I can see a way to make this better by making it so specific roles have different times on slow mode. Say you have an advertisement channel, you could have several roles, one that can only post once or twice a day (6hr timmer) and one that can post every 5 minutes.
4 -
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS, it would help so much

Bumping this suggestion, still hoping that Discord adds this feature to the slowmode. Would be very useful.
4 -
Please add this already
4 -
Yep. As usual

This would be great combined with a leveling bot. We can't just use other channels, we want the same channel. We can't even do this with bots! This was posted 7 months ago, and Discord claims to be very actively looking at features. What's wrong with it, Discord, if you've already looked at this? P L E A S E A D D I T . Also implement @RetroAnd8BitThings's idea—along with the server-wide slowmode being on the global slowmode feature, too.

Bump, this feature would be so useful for moderating
