A single hotkey that could switch you from Push-to-Talk mode and Voice Activity mode would be helpful in my circumstances.

  Agreed.
  It would be very helpful to have push-to-talk and while gaming e.g. and when you are finished you can lean back in your chair and just toggle to voice activity so you can chat with your friends.
