My muted role isn't working, even though I have "Send messages" Disabled on it.

As a punishment, I have a muted role which (As you probably guess) mutes someone. For some reason, even though I have send messages disabled, They are still able to send messages. Help?

  If they still have a role with "Send Message" permission, they can still send messages

   

  You can't just give them a role, which takes away the permission, you have to directly take the permission away
