Discord Skins
I think that it would be a brilliant idea to allow users to modify discord with custom skins that could also be easily shared with other people. Doing so would give people incentive to stop using less secure side clients like BetterDiscord (Which is indeed against the ToS to my knowledge for exactly this reason).
Discord could highly benefit from this while also not losing it's unique branding as i've seen stated being a problem in the past, as this could include some elements of the UI being "locked down" for better lack of terms, like the home button, you could change the color of it but i'd always have to stay the discord logo, same with the "DISCORD" above it, but other things would be fully under the control of the user to re-color or re-skin.

I agree this is a good idea. I would like to see the Discord app on desktop have a Light Version like it does on Mobile. I have a friend who doesn't use Discord because the Dark skin makes the individual feel sleepy. I think these are good ideas that need to be considered in possible new updates for readability purposes.

I know this is an old thread now but Id love to see Discord have skins. I have fond memories of Myspace and Bebo and I loved the customization of those sites. Skins please Discord!!!

Same here. Seriously, if it would be easy to migrate to other platform, I would do that for the design reasons. I just don't understand why can't I change at least color of the app. That is no issue of unique branding, this is simply ignoring customers' needs.
Developers should allow for design plugins. I am sure people would like to develop them for free and even buy them eventually - if Discord is so occupied with making more profit as it seems, this is a hint how to motivate people into spending. A safe frame in the code that would allow changes in the design is needed. Or of course developers may choose to not allow any others' code in, that would be ok too.. in such case classic design settings are needed - for color changes, for font used etc. Nothing so revolutionary, unexpected or new under the Sun. It does not need to be some horrible skin put over whole app that would slow down the app and endanger its integrity, it is possible to make in very clean ways.0
