In Direct Messages have something like a "read" from the other person, so you know if your friend just decided to ignore you, AKA a notification under your message stating if the other user or which group members have read the message, and the time.

this is a really good option but the problem is that some people (Id**ts) think that you don't have to know if they ignore you because that's a part of their privacy

This is exactly what I thought of as well. You gave an example of iPhone messages, though this system is also implemented in WhatsApp. When you send a message but it doesn't let you (this could be for any reason, like not having internet connection), a little clock appears at your message. On Discord, your message will be a little transparent and keeps trying to connect. A check mark on WhatsApp means that you have succesfully sent your message, but it hasn't arrived at the other person. You're not able to see this on Discord. Your message will just be sent but you can't see if it has arrived at the other person. 2 check marks on WhatsApp means that your message has been sent and arrived, the person just hasn't read it yet. You can't indicate this on Discord. 2 blue check marks on WhatsApp mean that your message has been sent, arrived and read. I really like these features on WhatsApp and I really miss them on Discord. The only way to know if the person had read your message, is by a response to it. Also, on WhatsApp groups, this also works and if you select the option "information" while your message is selected, you can actually see the status of your message per person. So if this system could be implemented in Discord DM's, groups and servers I would be very satisfied!

This is great, and maybe have the option to make it optional to see if you want it to show that you read it
