Same here.  The mic drops immediately when the user joins my live stream and when they reset the settings, they get voice back; but are disconnected from the stream.

Yep, getting exactly the same thing. If I'm streaming to a voice channel and certain people start watching my stream it mutes their mic and they can't get it back without leaving and rejoining the channel. It doesn't show them as muted on my end or theirs, the mic just stops transmitting audio. It doesn't seem to affect everyone, but it happens every time for the people that it does affect.

i kinda fixed the problem I just made a second discord account and used my phone and my computer and two pairs of earbuds.  So i had one account on my phone and one on my computer and then watched the stream on my computer and talked in the voice chat on my phone. its not perfect but its something.

My friend and I have the same issue. I have adjusted all of my settings (And even reset my settings), but to no avail.

I just did some tests, and when joining the stream, the connection drops to orange for a split second, then returns to green. A few seconds joining, the bytes and packets sent from my computer jump to 14kb and 200 bytes respectively, and then increase at a steady rate. In the browser the tab continues to use the microphone. On the android app, streams work as intended. My desktop app refuses to load, so I don't know if that medium works.

I had this same problem above recently. And it took some digging. But if anyone does have this problem again there is a simple solution I did end up finding :) I will leave the steps on how to fix it below (It's simple)

Step 1: Go into Settings (The cog wheel)

Step 2: Go into Voice & Video

Step 3: Scroll down to "Voice Processing"

Step 4: Turn off "Noise Reduction"

Hope this helps! If Noise Reduction doesn't do it. Turn off Echo Cancellation as well.

I've had this problem for a few months now. Disabling echo cancellation works, but then there isn't echo cancellation so my friends get annoyed. Pls fix.

For all those who said Echo cancellation fixes this. If anything it just solves one problem by creating another. Any idea how to actually solve this problem?

This happens to me every single time I try to watch a friend's stream. I have tried everything this thread has asked and have still had zero luck. Is this just a proble with Discord in Canada? Please help!

Same issue. I used to fix it by disabling echo cancellation, but now that's already disabled. Also tried above remedies. No fix yet.

This problem used to be solvable by disabling echo cancellation, but it no longer works. Can this problem just be patched instead of us having to search for a workaround again?

I have the exact same issue, whenever I watch my friends' streams it starts picking up my mic sensitivty based off of the stream volume too. Can this be resolved?

If nothing else works try plugging your mic directly into motherboard. nothing was working for me but this seemed to fix the problem.

Moving my mic to input 1 on my interface resolved it for me. Also discovered here.

This is still an issue. It happened randomly as well.
Mic was functioning just fine yesterday and today it suddenly doesn't work when watching a stream.

    It's not a USB mic.

    Disabling Echo Cancellation didn't work.

Mic was already set to 2 channel, and changing it made it not work at all.

Ntiro's solution doesn't quite make sense to me, mostly because I'm not sure how to do that.

TinyKawaiiSatan what is your mic plugged into?

The solution I found is turning off auto sensitivity for picking up your mic. Whenever I watch a stream I turn off auto sensitivity and then turn it back on after I stop watching the stream. That’s the only work around I’ve found for dealing with watching others’ streams on discord.

I'm going to apologize in advance, I'm trying to fix a friends mic issues, not my own.

He says it's a headset mic, It’s an aux cord that plugs into a split.

    Hello!

Found  this thread while looking for a solution but got no help.

However, i solved it on my own by - while in Voice & Video - scroll down to the "Screen Share" tab and disabling "Use an experimental method to capture audio from applications" and now it seems to work fine.
