Better DM mute - when I mute someone they keep popping back up

When I mute someone's DM:

I don't want to see them pop back up at the top of my DMs list if they message me.
If I close the DM, I don't want to see it reopen if they message me.

I have anxiety issues and autism, and I use muting to take a break from people who I really really can't deal with at the moment, but if I get any indication that they're still messaging me then I won't be able to ignore it.

I can't just mute someone and close their DM because it'll just pop back up again. And it'll keep popping back up to the top of the list if they message me. I don't want this to happen!

Right now the only solution is to close/avoid checking Discord, and that's not really a great solution because I also have other friends that I like to talk to sometimes.

Except as soon as they DM you again they'll get this giant warning saying "Hey, you can't message this person because they blocked you!" and you'll just generate way more drama and social tension.

Not to mention blocking someone removes them from your friends list too. A mute isn't for cutting contact, a mute is for taking a break (usually)

100% agree they need to change the mute and close feature where the direct message doesn't pop back up when the other person replies! This is super frustrating when i need to take a break and don't want to block this person.
