This needs to be reversed. Right now. There is less contrast in the messages because the lines have been removed and the reactions are cramped. The messages themselves are closer together and are hard to read. There is now far more movement on the screen from the emotes popping up on the right side and the timestamps on the left. Not to mention the red line from new messages (which the red needs to be muted again, it's too bright) which draws the eye to the right side of the screen. And because the eye is drawn to the right, it makes it harder to read English messages, which start on the LEFT.
Speaking as someone who already has a hard time with screens because of poor eyeball to brain communication (plus merging issues), and someone who is still suffering from a concussion a few years ago that knocked my vision all wonky, I hate this. I enjoyed Discord's simple, clean, neat, and easy-to-read format. I made many friends on the servers I joined. I might have to leave Discord until they roll it back because the excess on-screen movement and lack of distinct messages will make me sick and give me migraines.
I don't want to lose all the friends I've made. Please make it go away.
