Recommended/most used emote bar is really getting in the way of things (among other things noted within)
I'm sure the negative reaction has been made known to you but this emote bar whenever you highlight any comment is really quite bad, I understand maybe it being an option but default-nonchangable is seriously degrading the usability of the service and at *the very least* (preferably rolled back and/or removed completely) let me turn the 3 recommended (or most used rather) emotes completely off as it clutters the UI and UX far too much, the new add reaction/options is fine and probably good to make those more noticeable (though the actual icons look a little big).
EDIT: Upon playing in the settings I have noticed you can essentially remove the "emote previews" by turning off reactions entirely in "Text & Images" but that hardly seems like good user experience considering I just have to just not engage with the whole reaction system *at all* to get clutter/flashing UI elements off my screen. Unrelated the 3 dots signifying more options overlaps with the new "New" indicator like... this is just bad visual language in general (not to mention it doesn't line up with the row it is applicable considering it is aligned with the top now so if you miss ever so slightly you accidentally highlight the row above then have to reposition... this is a lot of work)
EDITED AGAIN: Also unrelated, the flashing/highlighting of posts is getting increasingly annoying now also as I'm a laptop user with a trackpad and I can't scroll up without having the cursor within the text-display window, so whenever I scroll up to check what messages I've missed I am greeted with many randomly highlighting bits of posts as I scroll up (this has to be some kind of epilepsy concern surely even taking just the ugliness/impracticality of it) unless I train my brain to scroll only when my cursor is near the right side of the screen (which I guess I have to do now?)... this is... not good discord team (not that I think these were intentional of course but I think you will find the recent changes have not improved the platform definitely)

My friend asked me how to disable this "flickering very annoying new reaction UI" and I didn't know what he was talking about. New update he said, so I decided to update, but I wish I hadn't. Like literally everyone is noticing, it went from a nice simple highlight to the type of design reminiscent of the myspace gif era.
As you point out, it's plain dumb that the only options are to either get rid of reactions altogether or use this horrific large new flicker UI.They thought they were adding a "feature" but all they are doing is forcing everyone to disable it entirely.7 -
I'm with you chaps. This new "feature" is obnoxious and distracting. There was nothing wrong with the old system: It was discreet, it was there when you needed it and stayed out of the way of a hovering mouse. Change for sake of change is not good change, Discord. Give us the option to go back the old ui.
