The new update is nice, but it's not on theme

I just updated to the new desktop client, and while I see where the design was going... It's not discord-y. I've always enjoyed the out-of-the-way feel of the Discord UI, and this update completely departs from that. I can appreciate it objectively, but it feels out of place and in the way for Discord.

Further, it's a bit... Unnecessary. I've never had (and have never heard of anyone) having issues figuring out how to react or edit or otherwise admin a message. Those options don't need to jump out in your face. I've always found the context/right-click menu on discord incredibly well made and usable, so I see no need for a mouse-over menu like there is now.

Maybe if the team wanted to do something more flashy with it, having a subtler 3-dot menu, that then opens a "manage message" pane with a flashier design would be a better option? That way people can right click for quick tasks, or open the pane if they want to look up an emoji or whatever. Or simply just making it a toggle-able option as others have suggested.
