Discord: The Future of Social Gaming Platforms
What if Discord had a VR component. A social meet up space with avatars and basic gaming. One minute you are typing in the app and the next minute you are putting on your vr headset launching into a virtual space to meet up with the person you are talking to mock something up or play a game of poker. I know a lot of companies are doing it but it feels they just checked the box. Discord is not a company that just checks the box. You can kill it. You can build the first collaborative, virtual meeting space. You already have your demographic on board with your platform. Discord to a multiplayer gamer is as important on a new PC as a gaming mouse. It wouldn't be hard to sell and grow this feature.
It will even get to the point(if marketed well) that as frequently as people are in an audio channel now, is as frequently people will be hanging out in VR.
Make it a semi customizable space that can have things like a poker table, a dry erase board for drawing stuff out, maker pens for building 3d assets and other collaborative tools.
Build a new API platform that allows a player in VR to launch into 3rd party VR apps.
You might even be able to market this to companies that have Slack for Business.
Sell the feature as a subscription that the owner of a discord can subscribe to.
And then include the feature in Discord for Business, if you will.
