New UI in chat rooms
The UI changes may have brought Discord a fresh breeze, but I see them as totally unnecessary in the chat rooms.
First of all, I personally don't like single messages blinking when hovering over them. Neither am I sure how epileptic people will react to it. Also it reminds me of Microsoft Teams, which I admired Discord for not looking like that.
Furthermore, the option to add quick reactions is totally unnecessary. It takes less than a second to search for a fitting react, if I want to react with one of the three suggested emojiis, I'd find them in the old UI anyways.
Right next to the new reaction tab are the three dots. To be able to quote messages, delete them, pin them or edit them was really nice (I've never used the mark as unread option). With the old UI there was a rather small menu popping up to choose from the above. The new UI has a bigger menu for that. For me it takes longer to find what I'm looking for.
Overall the new UI seems a little to bloated. If there's a positive reaction from the biggest part of the community, it sure may stay avaliable for everyone. But I'd like to be able to revert to the old design.

i actually agree with this completely. it feels too much like other apps that i really do not want to return to, so to see discord slowly turning into that just stresses me out. and the layout just makes it so much worse to use; all of it is too crammed together now, so nothing is pleasing to the eye anymore. at this point, they'll get rid of everything that was really nice and peaceful and just make it into a huge eyesore.
sorry for going off on a tangent there, i got used to how discord looked for years and now it's just throwing me off.

Agreed. The new UI is bloated and detracting with its blinking and unnecessary big buttons. I'm all for adding new features and functionality but please could we have an option to turn them off/go back to the old alternative.
