Reaction Bar Horrible

Hello, first time feedback giver(imagine that, an update so visually intrusive I actually came her for the first time.)

I, like many others on here, do not like the reaction bar. It is intrusive. I am also not a fan of the bright red line that segments off new posts. The highlighting I can handle, but the other two things really should be reverted back.

The old way of adding reactions was fine, I don't need my most frequently used splashed across every message I run my mouse over, and the red-line "new" text is not needed- the way it was before with a little, unintrusive icon at the top telling us we were reading old messages.

Why change something that wasn't broken?

    I don't like the reaction bar, either. It is aesthetically busy and distracting, and doesn't appear to serve any functional purpose of value.

    100% needs to be optional. It's cool and a good idea, and I would personally use it, but it's still very visually intrusive.

    It covers up the text I'm trying to read.
    It's positioned so that I'm not sure which post I'm responding to.
    It at least needs to be smaller; ideally it should only appear when I put the cursor at the end of the first line of a post.

    The quickmenu reaction bar thing is very nice to me, actually.

    Also, the red line has always been a thing. What's so different about it now?

    Additionally, the update's been out for almost 3 days now. Why are people only getting angry about it now?
