Voice recording on discord

The feature that's being requested here works like this:

1 - You go to friends / direct messaging section of discord

2 - You hold down / toggle a record button

3 - Once you've said what you need, it automatically sends the file as a voice message

 

Further clarification:

This has got nothing to do with server / channel based voice chat and I can't think of a reason why this feature would be useful in this design.

This has got everything to do with Direct Messaging / peer to peer messages

 

Final note:

More and more people are using discord on their phones which is why I think this suggestion has merit and would serve to keep discord current against its "competitors"

    i have made a rough version of this feature using rust , if the discord team would like they can personally contact me on my discord for the source code.

    I have been wondering about the same thing.
    Why discord doesn't have voice record like other chat apps.
    That would be a great addition.
